August 28, 2006 - 4:25pm
Runners were soaked by rain during the New York City Half-Marathon yesterday. It was the first time the event was run outside Central Park, looping through Times Square and along the West Side Highway to lower Manhattan. A half-blind Kenyan named Thomas Nyariki won the 13.1-mile race in 1 hour, 1 minute, 22 seconds.
