A lot can happen in 20 years. Since 1988, New York City has changed dramatically: from the rise of Wall Street in the ’80s to its recent turbulence, from the crime cleanup of the ’90s to the tragedy of Sept. 11, to today when the Manhattan skyline is being made over by a boom of high-end construction. It seems like the city has grown up a lot these past 20 years.
The Resident has grown up too. What was once a neighborhood newsprint magazine is now a full-color glossy luxury lifestyle magazine with editions in Manhattan and the Hamptons. This year, we continued to break new ground. On the Web, we’re reaching out to more and more readers by introducing a new, virtual way to enjoy the Resident. (Who could have imagined that when we started 20 years ago?)
It’s been a big year for the Resident, but stay tuned, we’re not done yet. The next year will see big things as we continue our expansion into the luxury market with special editions covering travel and health. And the introduction of our next title, Luxury Life, will extend the reach of the Resident family of publications even further into the red-hot luxury sphere. Look out for coverage of the most exclusive and glamorous resorts, real estate and restaurants at home and abroad.
To 20 more years!
