First-Ever Bakugan Champion to be Crowned at “Baku-Con” National Tournament

Registration now open for the ultimate Bakugan challenge, which will include regional tournaments throughout the U.S. to culminate in a Championship event in New York City, February 20-21, 2010



TORONTO, ON – Dec. 14, 2009 – This January, the “call to brawl” will roar throughout America as Bakugan fans compete at “Baku-Con”, the first-ever tournament that will crown a national Bakugan Champion. Registration is now open online at www.Baku-Con.com for all brawlers who want to compete in tournament play.



Thousands of kids are expected to battle in regional tournaments for their chance to become the ultimate Bakugan brawler in America at the national championship event February 20-21 in New York City. In addition to official tournament play, each regional event will create a Bakugan convention-like experience and will be open free of charge to non-registered players, parents and siblings.



Kicking off in Chicago on January 9, 2010 Baku-Con will also make its stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, Orlando, and New York. The top 16 players from each city will be flown to New York City courtesy of Spin Master Ltd. to compete in the championship finals.

Players must register online at www.Baku-Con.com to compete in the regional tournaments. Each event will run from 9am-5pm, beginning with on-site registration and a players meeting before the tournament play begins. Players will battle it out in eight tournament zones, with winners advancing to the regional finals on the Sunday. These regional winners will take part in an awards ceremony and advance to the Baku-Con Championship in New York City.



The Baku-Con championship weekend in New York City will also feature a Players Banquet with special Bakugan Season 3 launch announcements.
