A Four Seasons Hotel in Hawaii commands the full attention of even the most decorated traveler, and this is no less true in the case of the Four Seasons Hualalai. With a tropical climate all year round, this really is a hotel for all four seasons.
Perhaps the most striking feature of the hotel is its number of pools; as many as seven! It is clear that the Four Seasons management here seeks to make the most of the sun and the famous Hawaii beach breeze. The King Pond is arguably the most attractive choice of the seven – although you can’t really go wrong with any choice. This pool is a natural, a 1.8-million gallon “aquarium” carved out of the natural lava rock, and you will never be alone as all kinds of exotic fish swim around your ankles. The hotel enjoys this theme of naturally made pools, as the Ocean Pool is on the beach and this is where you can swim with turtles and enjoy the ocean without the in-your-face waves. There is, of course, a pool for the little ones too, with plenty of shade to protect from the Hawaii Sun.

When you want a change from the water-based relaxation, try out the Spa, which offers a wholly unique experience. Their Spa is inspired by and at one with nature; the massage services are in a quiet outdoor retreat within the resort, surrounded by exotic plant life and under a traditional Hawaiian wooden shelter. Facials and body treatments are, as expected, on offer in addition to all the standard Spa services. What makes this Spa unique, however, is its apothecary. This is the result of years of tradition and home-made remedies and therapies, all made from natural local ingredients, and so this Spa offers something that most Spas cannot.
The Hotel offers a choice of excellent restaurants. Choose from three restaurants and two ocean-side lounges, with creative menus that reflect the changing of the seasons and the bounty of Hawaii’s farms and coasts. Enjoy tempting variety throughout the week, from Tuscan cucina rustica and beachfront barbecues to Asian-Pacific cuisine and Polynesian pupus (appetizers). The pick of the bunch is probably the Beach Tree Bar and Lounge, which is set on the beach among palm trees; a perfect way to unwind at the end of the day. For the ultimate VIP treatment, all tables have their own personal waiter.
