2012 was such an incredible year for music… from the return of the Boy Band… to the flood of new artists from the UK… and of course our favorite superstars continuing to give us more huge hits! So, what do we have to look forward to kicking off 2013? Some more amazing music from the heavyweights, new artists that have a little something different to bring to the table, and some artists we haven't heard from in a while. Let's get started...
2013 is gonna be a huge year for Ed Sheeran! If you're not completely familiar with his music, I suggest you run out and get his album "+" immediately. Not only has he written hits for One Direction and Taylor Swift, but every other artist is knocking down his door to work with him. With the release of his first single in the US, "The a Team," he's already built such a loyal following and sold-out his Radio City Music Hall show in less than 10 minutes. You'll be hearing a lot from him this year.
Another incredible artist and songwriter, Bruno Mars, is back with his second CD, "Unorthodox Jukebox," and his first single, "Locked Out of Heaven," already shot to #1 on the charts. Just like Bruno's first CD, the songs are unique, emotional, fun and are delivered only the way Bruno can. This CD is filled with a ton of hits you'll be hearing on the radio. Also, if you get a chance to see Bruno live when he comes to town, you have to get tickets! Bruno and his amazing band give you a high energy party on stage that makes you never want the show to end.
Someone we've been waiting a long time for their new music may be resurfacing soon. Every year, there always seems to be rumors that Justin Timberlake will be coming out with new music, and then we don't get anything, but we have heard from several very well connected sources that this will be a reality in 2013. Haven't heard any of the music yet, but as we've seen in the past, Justin likes to take a unique approach to every project, and based on his previous track record, it should be amazing!
Someone new to keep an eye out for...
Tory Kelly - This extremely talented singer, songwriter, and musician has a unique voice like no other out there. Managed by Scooter Braun, the same guy that brought us Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen and The Wanted, she was surprisingly told by Simon Cowell in a season 9 "American Idol" audition, that he didn't like her voice. Boy, will he surprised when her new music comes out. And as we had previously discussed, Tori recently got to go into the studio with the very "in demand" Ed Sheeran, to write a few songs together for her upcoming CD. I really look forward to hearing those!
That's just a little sample of some music we have to look forward to early in 2013. More to come soon!
