Shortly after 9 a.m. a man rammed his Jeep Grand Cherokee into another vehicle at 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue propelling it onto a curb where it struck a woman pedestrian, said MTA spokesperson Tom Kelly. After the crash, the driver, 36-year-old Joel Noonan emerged from his vehicle clutching a knife. Two nearby MTA officers approached and fired shots, striking Noonan in the groin and abdomen, said Kelly. Noonan was wanted for knifing a man to death last night in East Providence, R.I.
