The Four Seasons Hotel Marunouchi is famed for its style and timeless décor; so timeless that it doesn’t even matter what time of the year you visit as the hotel suits both cold and hot, and both grey and bright. The impressively furnished building is matched by an equally outstanding service -standing as testament to that famed Japanese hospitality- that will personally greet and send you off at Tokyo rail station.

In the mind of New Yorkers, there are few institutions that have as much gravitas and dignitas as WNET Channel 13. Even for this curmudgeon, I remember, with fondness, watching Sesame Street and Nature (which is actually produced by Channel 13). The station only brings fond memories. But the truth of the matter is that it had become staid - as up-to-date as a typewriter.

To be a professional football player takes skill, grit, determination and an unbridled love for the game - all of which Henry Hynoski, the starting fullback for the NY Giants, has in spades. Having grown up in small town Pennsylvania and making his way through high school and college, he was injured just as he was about to enter the NFL. Yet, Henry wouldn’t have it any other way – it gave him a drive and an awareness of what he wanted most – to play professionally.

Resident (R): How did you get into the business?

Anna Bergman (AB): I was born in Paris and my Dad was a diplomat; he was a big influence on me. I studied with the Vienna State Opera Ballet School; I was the little girl in the front row. They gave me a choice at 12 if I wanted to be a professional dancer, but I loved singing and I loved acting and all the things you can’t do as a ballerina, so I decided not to focus on that. I majored in drama at Vasser College in addition to the fellowship to study Opera. Following, I went to Aspen Music School to continue my studies.

I’m very excited to be hosting a seminar on Fall fashion trends, featuring my favorite beautiful Broadway stars. This will be a discussion on how these ladies feel about fashion and style in both their personal and professional lives.

It will take place at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts’ Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center on Thursday, September 13 at 6pm.

I’ve been a New Yorker for over twenty years and am constantly discovering new experiences and places that land a spot on my internal “favorite things” list. How does your list compare?

As the editor-in-chief of a well-known Manhattan magazine, I am no stranger to receiving invitations that normal civilians may not be privileged. Recently, I test-drove a Ferrari in the Hamptons, I learned to fly a Cessna and I just got back from a wonderful trip in Park City, Utah. But none of those can compare to the mind-boggling adventure I just experienced.

I feel as though the United States could sometimes be renamed the Competing States. Every state is seeking its own identity and uniqueness and always wants to be better than another state in any given competition, which is perhaps best exemplified by the NFL and NBA. We are fortunate enough to be in arguably the only state that does not need to prove anything, and I am confident that I do not need to give any reasons for this. That is not to say, however, that we should be justified in closing ourselves off from other states, and, as of June 2012, Hawaiian Airlines offers a direct journey to one of the most special states in the nation. As one of only two states that is not physically united with the rest of the country, Hawaii’s claim to uniqueness is strong.
