Chris Bauer: A Man with Simpatico

By Christopher A. Pape

Sometimes you speak to someone that you intrinsically connect with. Perhaps it’s similar personalities or interests or some vague feeling of simpatico. Whatever the unnamed feeling, it’s what I experienced when I interviewed Chris Bauer, of True Blood fame. He was witty, fascinating, engaging and completely straightforward.

Michael Albert: An Artist for New York

By Christopher A. Pape

Michael Albert, well-known New York artist, is proud to produce works of art that are completely orginial and are loved by children and adults alike. For our party, he created a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. I sat down with him to figure out his process and find out more about his works.

Mercedes Masohn: Smoking Hot

By Christopher A. Pape

Upon meeting Mercedes Masohn, I was enthralled. There are few times, if any, that I am in the presence of a true beauty. She is at once tall, striking and has a face that must be considered a magnet for all men.

A trip to the Loo

By Amy Statuto

Everyone knows that you can judge the quality of a restaurant by what their bathrooms look like. The same, I feel, holds true for the bathrooms in someone’s home. The bathroom holds a unique opportunity to really stretch your design savvy and be a little creative. It can hold that little element of surprise and since it is not a main room in the house that is out in the open for all to see, you can be a little more adventurous as well. It can be treated as a little jewel. An opportunity to be as daring as you desire.

Eric Trump: The Prince of New York

By Christopher A. Pape

There are few, if any, names that invoke the city of New York like the Trump name. Clearly, the Trump family are the masters of branding and whatever one’s feelings of them are - one must admit that their contribution is significant. While “The Donald” may still be in charge, his children – the ones with Ivana – are playing an ever increasing role.

The Master of Music

By Christopher A. Pape

As an arbitrator of musical tastes in the country, Sharon Dastur, has no equal. Although Ms. Dastur’s name may not be of the household variety, she is nonetheless extremely influential. If you or anyone you know listens to Z100 (100.3 on the dial) than you have been affected and swayed by her decisions, for she is the program director whom overseas all of the station’s content, hiring of staff and is the point person for the station’s highly sought after party, Z 100’s Jingle Ball. In other words, the buck stops with her.

Steve Lacy Ties The Knot With New York

It is a well known fact that print journalists are jealous of on-air reporters and so it is the case with Steve Lacy and me. As the anchor of Good Day Wake Up, he reaches millions of New Yorkers, informing them of breaking news and influencing them on a wide range of topics. I may influence many readers, but Steve does it with his good looks and charm – I do not.

A Brit on Broadway

By Christopher A. Pape

“Life’s like a play: it’s not the length, but the excellence of the acting that matters.” So said Seneca and what a perfect quote to describe Mr. Doug Hodge’s career. A consummate English director and actor, Mr. Hodge is making a triumphant return to Broadway in his turn as Cyrano in Cyrano de Bergerac at the Roundabout Theater. Having won a Tony award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in his role as Albin in the musical, La Cage aux Folles, he is no stranger to the New York stage.

A Star is Born

By Christopher A. Pape

I’ve been told by my grandmother a million times that when she saw Barbra Streisand perform in Funny Girl she knew that Barbra would be a star. Recently, I had that same sensation when I was privileged enough to see a performance of Bring It On, the new musical, starring Taylor Louderman. Like Judy Garland, Ms. Louderman is from a small Midwestern town and has a voice that is as smooth as gold.
